Job description
Requirements Engineering
· Gather, analyze, and challenge business requirements
· Collaborate with business stakeholders and software engineers to clarify needs and identify the underlying business problem
· Translate requirements into clear user stories and measurable acceptance criteria
· Document business processes, workflows, and functional specifications
· Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, and ready for development
Product Backlog Management
· Own and continuously maintain the operational product backlog
· Drive backlog refinement sessions
· Prepare sprint planning by ensuring stories are well-defined and prioritized
· Track requirements throughout the development lifecycle
· Identify dependencies, risks, and delivery bottlenecks
· Support Product Management in balancing business value, technical effort, and delivery speed
Quality Assurance
· Define acceptance criteria and test scenarios
· Coordinate and perform functional and user acceptance testing (UAT)
· Validate delivered functionality against business requirements
· Document, prioritize, and track defects
· Support release readiness and production validation
Collaboration
· Act as the primary interface between business teams and software engineering
· Work closely with Product Management, architects, and developers
· Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Help establish best practices for requirements engineering, backlog management, testing, and documentation
· Coach less experienced Product Owners or Business Analysts where appropriate
Requirements
You ensure that business requirements are translated into high-quality software that creates real business value. Working closely with Product Management, business stakeholders, and the engineering team, you take ownership of the operational product development process-from requirements engineering and backlog management to testing and release validation. You are a strong analytical thinker who challenges assumptions, asks the right questions, and helps the team build the right solution-not just the requested one., · Several years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, or similar role
· Strong experience working in Agile software development environments (Scrum, Kanban)
· Excellent analytical and structured thinking
· Ability to challenge requirements and identify the real business need
· Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools
· High attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Fluent in English

Nice to Have
· Experience in the energy industry (utilities, retail energy, billing, metering, market communication)
· Experience with SaaS products and cloud-based software platforms
· Understanding of APIs, microservice architectures, and modern software development practices
· Experience with test management or test automation
· Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot or Cursor) to improve productivity where appropriate
