Job description

  • You maintain technical ownership of our hybrid Charge Point Management System (CPMS), acting as the technical partner to the Solution Owner - shaping and prioritizing architectural work and technical improvements alongside product demand to ensure technical direction remains tied to operational realities and business outcomes
  • You work on architecture planning at the CPMS system level, spanning all system components, ensuring alignment with the target-state architecture and enterprise architecture standards
  • You design, guide, and implement system integrations - both internal and with third-party platforms - ensuring interoperability, resilience, protocols and standards compliance across the integration landscape
  • You establish a foundation for the CPMS system's SDLC by defining balanced standards, architectural guardrails, and adoption of best practices, to enable efficient development and DX, reducing manual effort and ensuring reliable delivery
  • You ensure technical delivery meets both functional and non-functional requirements by guiding complex technical planning, conducting architectural, design and peer reviews, and validating that implementations align with intent and quality expectations
  • You partner with DevOps Engineers to advance operational excellence - contributing to reliability engineering practices, monitoring and observability strategies, incident response processes, and capacity planning. You participate in on-call rotations during regular working hours to build operational depth and team continuity
  • You bring clarity to technical-level coordination by translating architecture reasoning, technical requirements, trade-offs, and constraints into clear recommendations and decision documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences, including internal stakeholders and external partners
  • You build shared understanding across the team by maintaining up-to-date architectural documentation, conducting technical alignment sessions, and contributing to knowledge sharing at functional and cross-functional levels

Requirements

  • Architecture experience: Over 7 years of professional experience in technical roles, including at least 3 years working as an IT Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Technical Lead in integration-heavy environments. You take ownership of architectural decisions across their entire lifecycle - from initial design through delivery and operations in production
  • Collaboration competence: Proven ability to work in close partnership with Product Owners, DevOps Engineers, and business and enterprise stakeholders. You communicate technical decisions with reasoning and architectural rationale at all levels, and are comfortable navigating ambiguity in a cross-functional and enterprise-level setup
  • Architectural and cloud-native expertise: Solid practical knowledge of distributed systems design principles, including event-driven architecture, microservices, domain-driven design (DDD), multi-tenancy patterns, and API-first design. Extensive experience with cloud-native architectures in AWS and advanced cloud architecture patterns
  • Technology stack: Hands-on proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, Nest.js, React.js (frontend), with the ability to assess implementations, guide technical decisions, and contribute where needed - without being a full-time developer. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Operations know-how: Advanced experience with technical operations, reliability, observability, SLA/SLO adherence, incident response, and reducing operational toil through architecture. Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and be part of incident response when required
  • E-mobility ecosystem: Familiarity with the e-mobility industry and knowledge of industry protocols OCPP, OCPI, and/or OICP is a strong advantage. We value domain expertise alongside technical depth
  • Certifications: Certification in iSAQB or TOGAF architecture frameworks is an advantage
  • Language proficiency: Professional-level fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is required (at least B2)
  • You think and act with the customers' perspective in mind, and want to enhance their experience with us
