Job description
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues
- Support and maintain cloud environments across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
- Support and maintain client infrastructure, including servers, virtualisation, and storage
- Support networking environments including switches, firewalls, routing, and VPNs
- Support security-related issues across client environments, including endpoint security, patching, identity/access management, and general security best practice
- Diagnose and resolve root-cause issues rather than just symptoms, reducing recurring tickets
- Document technical solutions, processes, and configurations clearly for internal knowledge base and client records
- Mentor and support junior engineers (1st/2nd line), helping to develop their technical knowledge
- Liaise directly with clients on more complex or sensitive technical matters, ensuring clear communication throughout

Requirements
- Proven experience working within an MSP environment at 3rd line level for 3 years is essential
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure architecture and services, including Azure Landing Zones, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Local
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, including Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, and SharePoint
- Solid understanding of IT security fundamentals, including endpoint protection, identity/access management, patching, and general best practice
- Infrastructure experience with servers, virtualisation (e.g. VMware or Hyper-V), storage, and backups
- Networking knowledge covering firewalls, switches, VPNs, and routing/switching fundamentals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to own complex escalations end-to-end
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence dealing directly with clients
- Relevant certifications are desirable, such as Microsoft Azure/M365 certifications or networking certifications, but are not essential if experience is strong
- Must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available
About the company
We are a growing Managed Service Provider based in Bristol, offering a hybrid working arrangement with one day per week in the office and the remainder remote. We are looking to appoint an experienced Infrastructure / 3rd Line Engineer to join our technical team. This role offers a salary of up to £60,000 DOE, along with great training and progression, certification support, private healthcare, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and an enhanced pension.
