We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer who can take technical ownership of our core platforms and guide the development of reliable, scalable software used across our products and services.

You will work closely with product specialists, optical engineers, clinical teams and software developers to turn complex healthcare requirements into secure and practical technology solutions.

You will not simply be writing code. You will influence technical direction, improve engineering standards and help the team make sound architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Architecture:

Design and improve scalable software architecture for clinical, operational and customer facing platforms.

Technical Leadership:

Provide technical direction to software engineers and support the team in solving complex engineering challenges.

Platform Development:

Lead the development of secure, reliable and maintainable applications, services and system integrations.

Code Quality:

Establish coding standards, review complex changes and promote effective testing, documentation and deployment practices.

System Reliability:

Improve platform performance, availability, monitoring and incident response procedures.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

Work with product managers, clinical specialists, optical engineers and business stakeholders to define technical requirements and delivery priorities.

Mentoring:

Support the professional development of junior, mid level and senior engineers through coaching, technical reviews and knowledge sharing.

Security and Compliance:

Ensure software solutions follow appropriate data protection, information security and healthcare technology requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, improve development workflows and strengthen engineering efficiency.

At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including experience leading major technical projects or guiding other engineers.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong experience with modern software architecture, cloud based systems, APIs, databases and scalable web applications.

Programming Skills:

Advanced experience in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C Sharp, Python, TypeScript or JavaScript.

Cloud Experience:

Practical experience with platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform.

Engineering Practices:

Strong knowledge of automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, code reviews and secure development practices.

Leadership:

You can influence technical decisions, mentor engineers and communicate clearly with both technical and non technical stakeholders.

Problem Solving:

You can evaluate complex requirements, identify risks and create practical solutions without unnecessary complexity.

Communication:

Strong written and spoken English is required for technical documentation, team collaboration and stakeholder meetings.
