Job description
We're looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to join an established engineering team developing innovative electronic control products for demanding real-world applications.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, designing hardware from the ground up and seeing their work progress from concept through to manufacture.
Rather than working on small sections of a project, you'll be involved throughout the full product development lifecycle, collaborating with mechanical, software and manufacturing engineers to bring new products to life.
Whether your background is automotive, aerospace, defence, industrial electronics, medical devices or another complex engineering sector, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
What you'll be doing
- Designing analogue and digital electronic hardware for new product development
- Producing schematics, component selections and engineering documentation
- Supporting PCB layout and design reviews
- Carrying out circuit simulation, thermal analysis and design verification
- Supporting prototype builds, testing and product validation
- Using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes and power supplies to investigate and troubleshoot designs
- Working closely with software, mechanical and manufacturing engineers throughout development
- Supporting products through validation, production and continuous improvement
Requirements
You'll ideally have experience in several of the following:
- Electronic hardware design
- Analogue and digital circuit design
- Schematic capture
- PCB design or PCB layout support
- Electronic testing and debugging
- EMC and ESD design principles
- Laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and power supplies
- Working within a regulated engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience within sectors such as automotive, aerospace, defence, industrial controls, medical devices or similar would be beneficial.

- ISO26262
- FMEDA
- ECU development
