Job description
- Review customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to develop accurate quotations.
- Evaluate project requirements and recommend appropriate engineered solutions.
- Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the application and configuration of piping systems, structural assemblies, and pump/motor skid packages.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams to ensure proposals are technically accurate and commercially competitive.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information.
- Identify technical risks and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Support project handoffs from the quoting stage through project execution.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and quotation records.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering and quotation processes.
Requirements
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Application Engineer to join our team in Orlando, Florida. This position plays a key role in evaluating customer technical specifications and developing accurate technical and commercial quotations for engineered systems.
The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of engineering experience and a background in piping systems, structural steel, pump and motor skid systems, or similar industrial equipment. - 1-3 years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Industrial piping systems
- Structural steel
- Pump and motor skid systems
- Mechanical equipment or process systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software is preferred but not required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting engineered-to-order (ETO) products or systems.
- Knowledge of industrial manufacturing, power generation, or rotating equipment.
- Experience preparing technical quotations or engineering proposals.
Benefits & conditions
- Salary: $70,000-$85,000 annually (based on experience)
- Full-time, permanent position.
