Job description

Security Clearance: At a minimum, Active Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance., Amatriot is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support the U.S. Space Force's Critical Satellite Communications (C-SAR) mission in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this role, you will help ensure the reliability, performance, and readiness of mission-critical software systems that support MILSATCOM operations around the globe.

This is an opportunity to work directly with cutting-edge satellite command and control technologies in a highly collaborative environment where your contributions have a direct impact on national security and space operations., * As a member of a specialized engineering team, you will support testing and validation activities for the Command and Control System - Consolidated (CCS-C) integrated environment. Your work will help ensure the successful deployment and operation of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications, custom-developed software, and satellite-specific data products supporting U.S. Space Force missions. Applications are hosted on Windows, Solaris, and Linux platforms. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, prepare, and execute formal software acceptance tests
  • Validate software maintenance releases and system enhancements
  • Collaborate closely with software developers during unit, integration, and system testing activities
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and support resolution efforts
  • Provide daily status reporting during formal test events
  • Maintain and execute regression test suites to ensure system stability
  • Support user acceptance testing and assist with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Verify software performance across Windows, Linux, and Solaris environments
  • Apply software configuration management (CM) best practices to ensure consistency and integrity across multiple systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 2-4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, * Experience supporting MILSATCOM operations, satellite command and control systems, or a related developmental/operational environment preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering teams and customers

Certifications:

  • Current Security+ certification (DoD 8570 IAT Level II) or higher.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of software or system testing experience
  • Experience supporting MILSATCOM and/or satellite command and control systems
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience working in classified or mission-critical operational environments
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and test management processes
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts orally and in written forms both internally to the team as well as externally to the customer
