Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Lead to spearhead a critical, enterprise-wide UC4 (Broadcom Automic Workload Automation) version upgrade. In this role, you will own the technical strategy for the upgrade, design the post-upgrade verification framework, and serve as the central orchestration hub connecting infrastructure teams with over 100+ downstream application teams. This position requires a unique blend of deep engineering expertise in workload automation, rigorous release validation methodologies, and exceptional program-level stakeholder management., 1. Architectural & Technical Leadership (UC4 Upgrade) Upgrade Strategy & Execution: Define the end-to-end technical roadmap, rollback strategies, and cutover plans for migrating the enterprise UC4 environment to the target version. Infrastructure Collaboration: Work closely with Database Administrators, System Administrators, and Security teams to ensure infrastructure compatibility, optimal performance tuning, and robust TLS/SSL security configurations for the new version. Object & Script Optimization: Identify, analyze, and remediate compatibility issues within existing UC4 objects, v9/v12/v21 scripting languages, variable objects, and custom inclusions.

Post-Upgrade Testing & Validation Framework Test Strategy Design: Establish a bulletproof post-upgrade verification strategy covering component testing, integration testing, end-to-end batch processing simulation, and regression testing. Automation & Validation: Create automated verification scripts or utilize UC4 features to validate agent connectivity, database communication, service levels, and UI functionality post-migration. Performance Benchmarking: Analyze system performance, throughput, and UI responsiveness against pre-upgrade baselines to ensure no operational degradation.

Requirements
8+ years of IT experience, with a minimum of 3+ years acting in a Technical Lead or Principal Engineer capacity. UC4 Expertise: Proven track record of successfully executing at least one major version upgrade of Broadcom Automic Workload Automation / UC4 (e.g., migrating from v12 to v21). Core Technical Skills: Deep understanding of UC4 Automation Engine architecture, including AE servers, ServiceManager, WP/CP processes, and various Agent types (OS, Database, RA Agents, etc.). Strong proficiency in UC4 scripting language and utilities (e.g., DB Unload/Load, Change Logging, Client Copy). Solid database knowledge (Oracle, MS SQL, or DB2) as it relates to the Automic schema. Scale & Management Skills: Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving 100+ application teams or thousands of distinct active jobs. Strong matrix management skills-ability to influence and drive execution across teams without direct authority. Expertise in project management frameworks, tracking tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project), and establishing clear technical governance. Preferred Qualifications Broadcom/Automic Certified Professional. Experience with modern Automic features like the Automic Web Interface (AWI), REST API integrations, or analytics components. Background in migrating legacy infrastructure toward cloud-hybrid execution environments using Automic agents.
