Job description
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the strategic administration, architecture, security, governance, and continuous improvement of the organization's Microsoft 365 environment and related technology systems. Serving as the primary technical authority for Microsoft 365 technologies, this role leads the design, configuration, and optimization of SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, and other cloud-based collaboration platforms.
This position combines deep technical expertise with a strong commitment to end-user success, ensuring employees have reliable, secure, and effective technology solutions that support business objectives. The IT Systems Administrator evaluates organizational needs, develops and implements technology solutions, establishes governance standards, resolves complex technical challenges, and guides users in adopting and maximizing Microsoft 365 capabilities. The role exercises significant independent judgment in system design, platform administration, security management, and business process improvement while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on technology-related initiatives.
Reports To, * Administer, architect, and optimize the Microsoft 365 environment, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Entra ID, and Intune.
- Lead SharePoint strategy, governance, site architecture, permissions management, content organization, and document management solutions.
- Design, implement, and maintain collaboration, communication, and information management solutions that support organizational objectives.
- Analyze business requirements and develop technology solutions that improve productivity, workflow efficiency, knowledge sharing, and user experience.
- Serve as the organization's primary resource for Microsoft 365 administration, configuration, security, and best practices.
- Provide expert guidance, consultation, and direct support to employees regarding Microsoft 365 technologies, business applications, and workplace technology solutions.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues impacting users, business processes, and enterprise systems, identifying long-term solutions and process improvements.
- Manage identity, access, licensing, authentication, and security controls across enterprise platforms.
- Implement and maintain security, compliance, data retention, and information governance practices within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, taking proactive measures to optimize service delivery and minimize disruption.
- Develop technical documentation, standards, policies, and procedures related to Microsoft 365 and enterprise technologies.
- Deliver user training, promote adoption of digital workplace tools, and support organizational change initiatives involving technology.
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to align technology investments and solutions with organizational goals.
- Lead or participate in infrastructure, cloud, security, and business system projects as a technical subject matter expert.

- Must be able to respond effectively to technology issues and service interruptions in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion when handling sensitive company, employee, and system information.
Work Schedule
- Generally, Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 4:00PM
- Work may occasionally occur outside of normal business hours to support system maintenance, software deployments, upgrades, troubleshooting, or business continuity needs.

- Ability to stay current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and Microsoft 365 platform enhancements., * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 environments, including SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, and OneDrive.
- Demonstrated expertise in SharePoint architecture, governance, permissions, site management, and content lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft security and compliance technologies.
- Strong customer service mindset with proven experience providing end-user support in a professional environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
- Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure, or Modern Workplace technologies are preferred.
Physical Demands
- Requires extended periods of sitting, typing, viewing computer screens, and working with detailed technical information.
- May require occasional lifting and movement of computer equipment and related technology devices up to 50 pounds.
- May occasionally be required to move technology equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, utilizing appropriate safety procedures or assistance when necessary.
