Job description
SummaryThe Electrical Engineer II role is an experienced level position performing routine to moderately complex engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects of a general nature by applying, standard mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies., Design, develop, and maintain firmware and software for embedded systems, including programmable logic devices (FPGA), and microcontrollers. Develop test plans, write and execute test benches, analyze results, perform static timing analysis, apply constraints, debug and correct errors, to prove in logic designs. Document code, test procedures, and integration guidelines. Work with customers to understand, clarify and document requirements for embedded systems within a larger automated test system. Designs product and acceptance equipment; develops measurement methods, acquires, and designates tooling, cables, laboratory and other equipment to support product acceptance. Develops test procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to assure product manufacturability. Conducts audits, analyzes processes, products, and inspection records to anticipate, identify, and correct problems and to establish quality levels and trends. Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates improvements for product.
Requirements
You Must Have Ability to travel up to 15% of the time Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited university in Engineering or Physics 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities. Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business United States Citizenship Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations) We Value Ability to understand and trace signals through printed circuit board schematics and other technical drawings for cables, equipment chassis, etc. Hands-on experience with logic analyzers and other laboratory test instruments, such as oscilloscopes, digitizers, DMMs. Basic knowledge of low-level serial communication protocols, such as SPI, I2C, UART, TCP/IP, etc. Participate in hardware-software verification and validation. Basic knowledge of Linux bash commands. Open-source embedded Linux (e.g. Yocto) development. AMD Xilinx Vivado, Vitis and Petalinux development tools. Prefer the following programming languages: Programming languages: C/C++, Verilog and/or VHDL.
