Job description
The nationwide 5G wireless network requires a sophisticated infrastructure that balances massive scalability with mission-critical reliability. This role solves the challenge of designing and engineering foundational network elements that must perform seamlessly within a multi-VRF, service provider environment. By providing technical leadership for functional subsystem upgrades and strategic network expansions, the incumbent ensures the network remains resilient while evolving to meet next-generation telecommunications demands.
What Success Looks Like (Objectives)
- Delivery of scalable architectural frameworks that meet 5G service provider specifications and multi-VRF requirements within project timelines
- Successful nationwide deployment of complex LAN/WAN/RAN configurations with minimal disruption to existing subscriber services
- Standardization of technical communication through high- and low-level diagrams that accelerate cross-functional engineering cycles
- Achievement of high-integrity network performance metrics verified through rigorous automated testing and integration protocols
- Maintenance of mission-critical network reliability and 24x7 production uptime through advanced hands-on leadership and support
- Measurable gains in operational efficiency and fault detection through the strategic application of AI-driven predictive maintenance and automation
Requirements
- Mastery of service provider networking protocols including MPLS, segment routing, and multiprotocol environments
- Proficiency in IPv6 and SRv6 networking architectures within high-scale carrier spaces
- Advanced expertise in traffic shaping, QoS, and high-availability configurations in multi-VRF environments
- Deep understanding of data center fabric design, network security considerations, and redundant failover systems
- Critical experience in network configuration and deployment automation using Python, Bash, Ansible, and Zero Touch Provisioning
- AI Literacy and Application skills to leverage machine learning models for network optimization and anomaly detection
Additional Qualifications:
- Professional networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
- Public cloud certifications with a focus on advanced networking or cloud engineering, * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 8+ years of professional experience in large enterprise or carrier environments
- Extensive experience with MPLS and segment routing
- Documented success with IPv6 and SRv6 networking
- Proven history with eGP and iGP in multiprotocol environments
- Experience with network automation via Python or Ansible
- Expertise in data center fabric design and deployment
