Job description
Blu Omega is seeking a PowerBI Developer to support a federal health program. This role operates within a remote environment and is responsible for applying advanced development expertise in data analytics and visualization. The position focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing data-driven solutions using PowerBI, with an emphasis on creating maintainable dashboards and reports to support Community Care analytics and operational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience building scalable data models, querying large datasets, and integrating PowerBI into broader analytic workflows. The role also involves providing rapid support for debugging and issue resolution., * Design, develop, and maintain data solutions using PowerBI, including DAX transformations, data querying, and optimization of large datasets
- Create dashboards, reports, and data models to support analytics and operational needs
- Develop integrations between PowerBI and data sources such as SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, and cloud APIs
- Build reusable components, scripts, and utilities to streamline data access, automation, and validation
- Evaluate BI tools, participate in system design discussions, and provide technical recommendations
- Troubleshoot data or application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend preventive improvements
- Conduct code reviews, enforce BI standards, and mentor junior developers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile ceremonies to deliver incremental value
- Communicate progress, risks, and technical considerations to stakeholders
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with PowerBI and DAX-based analytics
- Ability to develop logical, functional dashboards and reports
- Experience evaluating BI tools and architectures
- Troubleshooting BI issues in delivery environments
- Familiarity with SQL Server, Azure, and cloud APIs
- Support for data-centric applications or cloud-native workloads, * Healthcare, VA, or Community Care data systems experience
- Knowledge of serverless design, schema governance, and data cataloging
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Azure DevOps, Terraform)
- Knowledge of healthcare data privacy and compliance standards
Benefits & conditions
Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
