Job description

Seeking experienced human services professionals to join the Protective Services Intensive Technical Assistance (PSITA) initiative. Supporting the 52 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) by providing expert guidance on the most complex and time-sensitive older adult protective services cases.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with protective services, adult services, aging services, or social work experience who are passionate about protecting vulnerable older adults and improving statewide program outcomes.

What You'll Do

You will provide technical assistance and consultative support to Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Protective Services Supervisors while helping ensure compliance with Pennsylvania's Older Adults Protective Services Act (OAPSA) and applicable federal requirements., * Provide intensive technical assistance on complex and high-risk protective services cases.

  • Assist AAAs in resolving barriers that delay investigations or case closures.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, legal representatives, family members, financial institutions, and community partners to move cases forward.
  • Serve as a liaison between public and private agencies involved in protective services investigations.
  • Ensure case documentation complies with OAPSA, state regulations, and required timeframes.
  • Identify statewide trends and recommend policy or procedural improvements.
  • Assist with reporting requirements, data collection, and program analysis.
  • Review program materials and recommend updates based on policy changes.
  • Participate in incident reviews and fair hearing preparation when assigned.
  • Attend team meetings, consultations, and required Pennsylvania Department of Aging training.
  • Travel throughout Pennsylvania to support Area Agencies on Aging when necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of direct aging services or adult protective services casework experience
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in a human services program providing social services to clients and a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to successfully pass required Pennsylvania State Police and/or FBI background clearances

Preferred

  • Experience working with or within a Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging (AAA)
  • Knowledge of the Older Adults Protective Services Act (OAPSA)
  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania Code Title 6, Chapter 15
  • Experience coordinating complex, multi-agency investigations
  • Knowledge of Federal Final Rule requirements under 45 CFR Part 1324
