Job description
We are seeking an experienced Systems Integrator to join our engineering and automation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, implementing, commissioning, and supporting industrial automation and control systems. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, clients, and field personnel to deliver reliable SCADA, PLC, and industrial control solutions from project kickoff through startup and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission SCADA systems
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems
- Configure and integrate third-party software for industrial and power applications
- Develop electrical control drawings and point-to-point wiring diagrams using AutoCAD
- Assist with control panel design, wiring concepts, and system integration
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain SCADA and control systems in the field
- Support project budgeting, scheduling, and project documentation
- Assist in developing custom control strategies, sequences of operation, and system architecture
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors throughout all phases of a project
- Participate in equipment testing, startup, commissioning, and customer training
- Coordinate equipment deliveries and project logistics
- Attend project meetings and provide technical support as needed
- Participate in an on-call rotation for customer support
- Stay current with industry technologies through ongoing training and professional development
Requirements
Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
- Wonderware
- Ignition SCADA
- Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI platforms
- Industrial networking and communications
- Electrical power, water/wastewater, or industrial automation applications, * Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems integration, industrial automation, or controls engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of SCADA systems, PLC programming, industrial control systems, and automation principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to participate in an on-call support rotation, * Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel approximately 25-50%, including overnight travel as project needs require
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in office, industrial, and field environments
- Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl when working on project sites
- Ability to distinguish colors and read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Ability to work around industrial equipment while following all applicable safety procedures
