Job description
We are seeking an experienced Technology Support Specialist to provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, networking, and classroom technology in a K-12 school environment. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments, Active Directory, LAN/WAN networks, and audio/visual equipment., * Provide Level 1 on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and classroom technology.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network connectivity issues.
- Support Microsoft Windows environments and Active Directory user administration.
- Install, configure, maintain, and repair computers and related equipment.
- Respond to and resolve incidents using the district's ticketing system.
- Escalate complex issues to Level 2 support or vendors when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, repairs, and resolutions.
- Support technology deployments, upgrades, and inventory management.
- Configure and maintain classroom audio/visual equipment.
- Prepare and support computers, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, and scanners for online testing.
- Set up temporary testing labs and restore equipment after testing.
- Provide technical assistance and basic technology training to teachers and staff.
- Collaborate with school administrators and technology teams on technology initiatives and projects.
- Participate in district technology projects, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- Microsoft Desktop or Windows Certifications
- Active Directory or Microsoft Endpoint Administration certifications
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting desktop/laptop hardware, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, and LAN/WAN environments.
- In lieu of 5 years of experience:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of related experience, or
- 2 years of experience with CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications.
