Job description
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior OutSystems Developer to work for our client within the Public sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a remote role with occasional travel to Glasgow.
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior OutSystems Developer to support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise-grade digital services. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering scalable, secure, and user-focused applications while working within agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
The role requires strong expertise in the OutSystems platform, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and experience delivering solutions within complex organisations. Public sector experience is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and deploy applications using the OutSystems low-code platform.
- Lead the technical implementation of new functionality, integrations and enhancements.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, designers and product owners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop reusable components and promote best practice across the development lifecycle.
- Ensure solutions meet security, accessibility, performance and reliability standards.
- Support application testing, defect resolution and release activities.
- Contribute to technical documentation, solution design artefacts and knowledge transfer activities.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership where required.
Requirements
- Certified OutSystems Web Developer Specialist (O11) or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum three years' hands-on experience developing applications using OutSystems.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, integrations and software development best practices.
- Experience working within agile delivery environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and database design principles.
- Experience integrating with APIs and third-party services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering solutions within UK public sector organisations.
- Experience working within Government Digital Service (GDS) environments.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and secure-by-design development practices.
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Additional OutSystems certifications.
