Job description
We're looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on IT Reuse Sorting Technician to join our growing team in Bradford.
This is a varied role where you'll work within our warehouse and processing operation, identifying valuable IT equipment, assessing products for reuse and helping maximise the recovery of technology. You'll play an important part in reducing electronic waste while supporting the efficient running of our reuse operation.
Whether you already have experience with IT equipment or simply have a genuine interest in technology and enjoy learning, we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed.
What you'll be doing
As part of our Reuse Team, you'll help ensure every incoming device is assessed for its reuse potential before recycling.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Unpacking and sorting incoming batches of IT equipment and electronics.
- Identifying products suitable for refurbishment and reuse.
- Checking devices against target brands, models and product specifications.
- Assessing condition and recording product grades for online platforms. (eBay etc)
- Researching products to identify specifications.
- Separating reusable equipment from recycling streams.
- Organising and managing reuse stock within designated warehouse areas.
- Working closely with the Stock Controller and Processing Team to ensure accurate stock records.
- Assisting with general warehouse and processing activities as required.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality and Health & Safety.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and enjoys working with technology.
You'll ideally have:
- An interest in computers, laptops, mobile devices or electronics.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to identify valuable products.
- Good organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.
- Basic computer skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong work ethic with a reliable and flexible approach.
- The physical ability to safely lift and move boxes of IT equipment within a warehouse environment.
Experience in IT refurbishment, electronics, warehouse operations, retail technology or product handling would be an advantage, but it isn't essential.
