Job description
Renew Path Recovery is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Peer Support Specialist to join our growing behavioral health team in Woodland Hills, California. This position plays an important role in supporting individuals receiving treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders., * Provide peer support and recovery coaching to clients throughout treatment.
- Build positive, supportive relationships that encourage long-term recovery.
- Assist clients with goal setting, problem-solving, and developing healthy coping skills.
- Facilitate peer-led recovery groups and wellness activities.
- Connect clients with community resources, housing, employment, educational, and recovery support services.
- Assist with client orientation, appointments, transportation coordination, and referrals as needed.
- Document services accurately and timely within the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with counselors, therapists, medical providers, and case managers to support client success.
- Promote client engagement, motivation, and participation in treatment.
Requirements
If you have lived experience in recovery and a passion for helping others build meaningful, healthy lives, we'd love to hear from you., * Certified Peer Support Specialist (California) preferred or eligible based on county requirements.
- Personal lived experience with recovery strongly encouraged.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or mental health preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Schedule
- Part-Time with potential to convert Full-Time
- Monday-Friday (some evenings or weekends may be required based on program needs)
