Job description

We have an open position for a junior computer support and network technician. You will primarily work remotely, communicating with senior staff via Slack, phone, and MS Teams. Occasional onsite support at clients in NY and NJ is expected. (Travel expenses and time are reimbursed.)

You must reside in New Jersey or New York in order to be hired for this position.

You will use the latest best-in-class business and cyber security technology solutions including AutoTask Datto RMM, Axcient BCDR, Office 365, ZohoDesk, Duo MFA, SonicWall, Meraki, Webroot, Cisco, Todyl Security, cloud VPN, IT Glue, etc.

Weekend work may be requested extremely rarely (for which compensation is provided). It is not a regular nor common occurrence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Check backups, and install updates/patches remotely using our RMM platform
  • Address alerts triggered in our RMM system
  • Create, modify and address support requests via our PSA system (Autotask)
  • Set up, troubleshoot and monitor workstations and servers
  • Document customer IT configurations for future reference
  • Evaluate and learn new technologies to provide the latest and best service offerings to our customers
  • Research and implement new technology products and tools for both us and our customers
  • Take a role in improving workflows, documentation and processes
  • Set up, troubleshoot and monitor servers and enterprise network equipment
  • Provide remote end user support for our customers
  • Answer the phone when the office administrator is unavailable

Requirements

This position is intended for an entry-level IT professional with foundational knowledge of IT and networking, gained through formal training, self-study, or practical experience. Candidates should be comfortable with core IT concepts and eager to gain hands-on experience.

This is a position for a bright, motivated person with IT training and/or self taught knowledge who wants to get hands-on experience. You must have some IT and network knowledge in order to qualify for this position.

Substantial salary increase is likely after first successful year of employment.
