Job description

Seeking an experienced IT Director to lead our technology organization and information systems strategy. Based at our headquarters, you'll direct a hybrid team of onsite and remote IT professionals, ensuring consistent standards, strong collaboration, and reliable support across all locations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can set technical direction, manage people well across different work arrangements, and keep critical systems running for a growing aviation services company.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed team of IT staff working both onsite and remotely, setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability across locations
  • Develop and execute the company's IT strategy, roadmap, and budget in alignment with business goals
  • Oversee infrastructure, networks, servers, cloud systems, and endpoint management to ensure security, uptime, and performance
  • Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and security standards for both onsite and remote environments
  • Manage helpdesk and support operations, ensuring timely resolution of issues regardless of employee location
  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers
  • Drive cybersecurity initiatives, including risk assessment, data protection, and incident response planning
  • Partner with department leaders to identify technology needs and deliver scalable solutions
  • Own IT compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning, including SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) security protocols
  • Report on IT performance, risks, and initiatives to executive leadership

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 3 years managing teams
  • Proven success leading both onsite and remote/hybrid teams
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, systems administration, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity best practices
  • Experience managing IT budgets, vendor contracts, and service-level agreements
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP, or similar) are a plus
  • Experience in aviation, logistics, or a similarly regulated industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of SCIF requirements and operations preferred
  • Active Top Secret clearance preferred
