Job description
BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer - Flight Management Systems (FMS) to join our client's site in Phoenix, AZ. This role will support the design, development, integration, and delivery of Flight Management System software for next-generation avionics programs.
The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced development environment alongside software and systems engineers to satisfy technical requirements, support functional load deliveries, and ensure compliance with certification requirements. The role focuses on developing innovative software solutions that meet evolving customer needs., * Integrate Flight Management software for new product development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
- Implement software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Perform testing and integration on test benches in laboratory environments.
- Support technical requirements, functional load deliveries, and certification compliance activities.
- Stay current with industry trends and software development best practices.
- Contribute to Flight Management System (FMS) software development in areas including Navigation Database Management, Flight Planning, Lateral and Vertical Guidance, Performance Predictions (Trajectory Predictions), Performance Optimizations, Radio Tuning, Approach Operations, Datalink, Takeoff and Landing, and User Interface Development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development of Flight Management Systems.
- MUST have FMS software development experience.
- Strong C++ or object-oriented programming skills.
- Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
- Strong software architecture and design development skills., * Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience developing software for embedded systems.
- Multi-core and multi-threaded development experience.
- Strong understanding of OOAD approaches and concepts.
- Software development lifecycle experience per DO-178C.
- Experience with software verification and validation using C++.
- Strong analytical and software development skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
