Job description

We're looking for a Level 3 Engineer who is equally comfortable troubleshooting a stuck printer as they are architecting and securing a client's Microsoft 365 and Azure environment. This is a hybrid role: you'll serve as one of the senior escalation points for our service desk, lead cloud and security implementations, and maintain on-site servers and infrastructure for our clients. You'll also be expected to bring current knowledge of AI-driven tools and how they apply to IT operations, security, and compliance., Cloud, GSuite, & Microsoft 365 / Azure

  • Design, implement, and administer Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive

  • Manage Azure infrastructure services, virtual machines, and hybrid identity/hybrid cloud configurations

  • Deploy and manage endpoint management through Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot

  • Working knowledge of Google Workplace (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Admin Console)

  • Lead client cloud migrations from on-premises or private cloud into Microsoft 365/Azure

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and manage security controls across client environments: Conditional Access, MFA, Microsoft Defender Suite, and Microsoft Purview

  • Support data protection, retention, and governance policies to meet client compliance obligations (e.g., NIST/CIS, HIPAA, CMMC, SOC2, PCI as applicable)

  • Conduct security reviews, assist in risk assessments, and document findings with recommendations for clients and internal leadership

  • Automate security monitoring and incident response workflows using PowerShell and related scripting/automation tools

Managed Services, Servers & Desktop Support

  • Act as the senior escalation point for Tier 1/Tier 2 tickets, advanced troubleshooting across servers, networking, virtualization, and cloud services

  • Maintain and support on-site client servers, including Windows Server and Active Directory environments, alongside cloud workloads

  • Get hands-on with desktop and print environments PCs, printers, and end-user hardware when issues need to be resolved in person

  • Maintain accurate documentation: configurations, network diagrams, and implementation details for every client environment

AI & Emerging Technology

  • Evaluate and apply AI-based tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Security Copilot, ClaudeAI) to improve service delivery, security monitoring, and operational efficiency

  • Stay current on how AI is reshaping cloud administration, threat detection, and compliance monitoring, and bring that knowledge back to the team

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, systems engineering, or infrastructure roles, with prior MSP experience strongly preferred

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure at an enterprise or multi-client scale

  • Demonstrated experience with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware, or Azure)

  • Experience supporting hybrid environments, cloud plus on-premises servers, network hardware, and desktop/print infrastructure

Certifications (held or in progress)

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, or Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate

  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Cloud+

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (preferred)

Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Defender

  • Proficiency with RMM and PSA tools (ConnectWise, & Auvik), and backup solutions (Axcient)

  • PowerShell scripting for administration and automation

  • Solid networking fundamentals: firewalls, VLANs, switches, VPNs, SASE, and wireless

  • Comfortable working directly with non-technical end users as well as IT leadership and vendors

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, this role requires regular travel to client sites across NY and NJ
