Job description
The Security Operations Engineer II will assist with the development of the security monitoring and incident management program and will perform active monitoring of security alerts and incidents. The Security Operations Engineer II is expected to use different Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, analyze and respond to incidents in a timely manner, and report on key findings accurately and promptly.
This role involves developing and managing threat hunting across different areas of the network for proactive detection of anomalous events and possible intrusions/attacks. The Security Operations Engineer II is expected to have familiarity with network security, cloud security and different SIEM tools. This role involves working collaboratively with other members of the security team to fine tune existing technologies to ensure optimal performance and improved detection/prevention capabilities.
Responsbilities:
- Analyze, investigate, and report on threats and security incidents in an accurate and timely manner.
- Develop and manage threat hunting/threat intelligence for proactive detection of anomalous events and potential intrusions/attacks.
- Assist with the development, implementation and rehearsing of the incident response plan.
- Assist with the creation of security education awareness training programs.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries regarding suspicious emails, concerning alerts/notifications, etc. sent to the Information Security department email.
- Stay up to date with the current threat landscape and devise countermeasures for any applicable threats.
- Fine tune existing technologies to ensure optimal performance and improved detection/prevention capabilities
- Assist with defining Save Mart's security operations plan and roadmap
- Develop SOP/runbook documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing and automation
Requirements
- Experience in administration of SIEM programs using tools from vendors like Alien Vault, Cisco, and Microsoft.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications
Experience: 2 minimum years experience in IT security operations an/or related experience focused on security monitoring, and tools implmentation
Education: 4 year/Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent experience/training in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
Licenses and Certifications: Certifications in Cisco CCIE Security, Microsoft 365 Security Administration, and/or other relevant certifications required
Other: This position may be part of a rotating on-call team, providing around the clock support.

Hiring pay range: $122,574.00 - 140,876.00
