KDOT does not provide sponsorships for this position., This IT Security Analyst II position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Information Technology. The IT Security Analyst II supports the KDOT's Security Infrastructure that includes both policy development, technical implementation, and customer education and training., * Provides high level implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting and education for all facets of network and data security systems within KDOT. Acts as senior telecommunications diagnostician for other technical support personnel, and telecommunications infrastructure implementation
- Provides primary support for security software installed on KDOT endpoints, servers and appliances used to support the KDOT protected network.
- Implements, integrates, maintains and troubleshoots all security/network devices, including agency-side firewalls, intrusion detection servers, wireless systems and advanced authentication solutions such as multifactor authentication and security tokens.
- Educates staff on all aspects of network security and data protection systems across the enterprise. Serves as the lead networking diagnostician, resolving complex infrastructure issues and mentoring technical support personnel.
Requirements
- Two plus years of hands-on IT or cybersecurity experience, intermediate certifications like CompTIA Security+ and CySA+.
- Advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals and diagnostic of data and voice communication systems.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
- Valid Driver's License at time of appointment., * Two plus years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or in foundational IT roles like Network Administrator, System Administrator, or Help Desk Education
