IT Systems Specialist

Job description
- Be the firm's first line for day-to-day IT: computers, connectivity, cloud apps, and the small things that break and need fixing fast.
- Keep our systems stable and running, and provide real, in-person relief to the team during peak periods.
- Administer and update our core applications, including Canopy and Formstack, and support our migration to Odoo as our new ERP.
- Manage backups and file recovery.
- Set up and manage SharePoint document sharing with clients.
- Coordinate PCI compliance requirements.
Automation and data (maintain now, room to grow):
- Maintain and troubleshoot our existing internal automations, integrations, and dashboards (for example, tools that connect Jotform to SharePoint, or dashboards hosted on Cloudflare Workers). Keeping these stable and debugging them when they break is a real part of the job.
- Help move data between our applications, our data store, and our reporting layer.
- Partner with our automation vendor on larger builds, and take on more building yourself over time if you have the skill and interest.
Vendor coordination:
- Work alongside our outside IT and automation vendors, who handle heavier build work, device onboarding and offboarding, and after-hours coverage. You are the internal point of contact who keeps things moving.
You will report to our Controller.
Requirements
If you want to be the calm, capable person the team is genuinely glad is here, this is the seat. If you only want greenfield build projects and no support work, this is not the right fit., * 5 or more years in an IT support, systems administration, or similar hands-on technical role.
- Strong troubleshooting instincts. When something breaks and there is no error message and no documentation, you can reason your way to the cause and fix it. This is the single most important thing we are hiring for.
- Comfort with cloud applications, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint administration, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Intune for device management.
- Basic comfort reading and fixing scripts or automations (Python, JavaScript, or similar), and connecting tools together through APIs and webhooks. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you should not be scared of a broken integration.
- Someone who leaves behind documentation and maintainable work, not black boxes only you understand.
- A calm, service-minded temperament, especially under busy-season pressure.
Strongly preferred:
- Experience building or maintaining automations (n8n or similar), or hosting internal tools (Cloudflare Workers or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Claude or other AI tools in a real, working way. If you have this, be specific, it carries real weight here.
- Familiarity with accounting-firm software (Canopy, Lacerte, QuickBooks).
- Security fundamentals or a Security+ style background.
- Government contracting, Deltek, or CMMC exposure is a bonus.

How to Stand Out
The people who do best here are the ones who can walk through how they actually solved a messy technical problem, not just list the tools they know. If you have used AI or automation in a real, working way, tell us what you built or fixed and what problem it solved. A link, a demo, or a short walkthrough all work.
