Job description
Our client are an IT Consultancy who build and deliver software on a global scale. Your job? Make sure all that code runs smoothly from local dev machines through test, pre-prod, and production. Less bottleneck, more flow. You'll be part of a high energy CloudOps team that believes in standardisation, automation, and developers spending their time writing code - not chasing down environment issues. What you'll be doing:
- Using our Internal Developer Platform to provision and manage environments in a sane, self-service way
- Keeping VMs and containers in line - build, upgrade, patch, decommission, repeat
- Standardising dev environments so "works on my machine" becomes a thing of the past
- Automating the boring stuff with Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab pipelines.
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and making sure deployments don't slow down or stop
- Monitoring environments and jumping on issues before anyone else notices
- Writing runbooks and guides so developers can help themselves
Requirements
We're looking for someone who can prevent problems from arising in the first place. Someone who thinks automation isn't just a buzzword but the best way to make developers' lives (and yours) a whole lot easier., + Linux admin, networking, troubleshooting
- VM & container management (OpenStack, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- CI/CD tools (GitLab, Bamboo, Jenkins). GitOps (ArgoCD, Helm) experience would be highly advantageous.
- A handle on secrets management (Vault, Keycloak).
- Some exposure to databases (Postgres, MySQL, ElasticSearch).
- Scripting chops (Bash, Python).
- Monitoring and logging stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Spanish and English fluency.
