Senior Scientist - R&D DDSAI Ontology Developer (TDS)Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine seeks a Senior Scientist to design, build, and govern semantic frameworks that unify data across the development?to?delivery lifecycle for Therapeutics Development & Supply (TDS).The role translates scientific and operational concepts into ontologies, controlled vocabularies, and semantic models to enable interoperability, analytics, and AI/ML applications across TDS.Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test and publish ontology modules and controlled vocabularies supporting TDS data ecosystems (process development, material attributes, equipment hierarchies, batch and product genealogy, quality signals, supply chain flows).- Translate domain knowledge from SMEs into OWL/RDF classes and properties, SKOS vocabularies and SHACL constraints, following established ontology engineering practices.- Produce validated, versioned semantic models and API?ready outputs for integration into enterprise platforms; build mappings to canonical models, regulatory standards and cross?functional ontologies.- Maintain governance and quality of the TDS ontology roadmap: set scope, priority, use cases and success metrics; enforce modeling guidelines, naming and versioning conventions, change?control processes, release/deprecation rules.- Implement data quality checks (coverage, conformance, identifier normalization, provenance capture); produce automated validation reports and maintain SPARQL queries/tests.- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Architecture teams to embed semantic layers into data pipelines and metadata systems, supporting automation of classification, normalization and entity linking using ML/NLP techniques.- Engage with SMEs across Process Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Digital/Data Science to capture domain semantics, validate ontology structures and communicate semantic designs in broader enterprise communities.Qualifications- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.- 1?3+ years of hands?on ontology engineering, knowledge modeling, semantic standards or knowledge?graph development.- Proficient with OWL, RDF(S), SKOS, SHACL, SPARQL and ontology design patterns; experience with reasoning workflows and graph databases (Neo4j, GraphDB, etc.).- Strong analytical problem?solving, requirements gathering and translation of discussions into semantic structures.- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high?quality outcomes.Preferred Qualifications- Familiarity with biopharmaceutical development, GMP manufacturing, quality systems or supply?chain data.- Experience with ISA?, GS1, HL7/FHIR or manufacturing?oriented ontologies.- Knowledge of ML/NLP for metadata extraction, classification or ontology enrichment.- Understanding of enterprise data platforms, metadata systems and knowledge?graph architectures.Compensation and BenefitsBase pay range: €55,* - €87,*.Benefits include an annual bonus, vacation days, parental leave (minimum 12weeks), bereavement leave, caregiver leave, volunteer leave, well?being reimbursement, financial and health programs, service?anniversary and recognition awards, and eligibility for various insurance plans as per location.EEO StatementJohnson & Johnson maintains an inclusive work environment where all employees are considered as individuals and are respected for their diversity and dignity.#J--Ljbffr
