Job description

Research assistant in the field of Wi-Fi 8 and Machine Learning. In particular, the selected candidate will carry out research activities related to the optimization of Wi-Fi networks using machine learning techniques. Main research field: Xarxes Sense Fils/ Wireless Networks Tasks to be performed:

  • Study and implementation of multi-AP coordination functionalities using machine learning techniques.

  • Contribution to the writing of scientific publications. The duration of these tasks is estimated over a period of 2 months. Group and complement: Grup 3 + Nivell u/ Group 3 + Level u Dedication and working hours: Temps parcial (30h/setmana)/ part- time (30 h/week). Planned remuneration approx: 24.699,90 € brut per any/ gross per year Financing fund: AL02316 - Suport a la Recerca - Boris Bellalta Requisits/ Requirements:

  • Batxillerat-FP2/ High school-FP2. The expected start date is February 15 of December of 2025, the job is in Barcelona. Selection criteria: The selection of the candidates will be made through evaluation of the curriculum and, where appropriate, with the carrying out a test and/or interview. Valuation will be as follows:

  • Academic Training (0-40 points).

  • Degree and Master's degree in Engineering in areas related to networks (telecommunications, electrical engineering, or IT) or artificial intelligence. In case the candidate has not completed the master's studies, it will be assessed whether he is doing the final master's thesis or similar, and its subject.

  • Other professional training and experience, adequacy to the proposed profile (0-40 points)

Requirements

o Extensive knowledge of wireless networks in general, and Wi-Fi in particular. o Extensive knowledge in artificial intelligence and machine learning. o High level of programming in Matlab, Python and/or C. o Experience in using simulation/experimentation for research in the areas of networks and communications. o Proven experience in performance evaluation techniques, analysis, simulation and experimentation.
