Job description
This is not a Radiologic Technologist position. We are looking for an experienced clinical support professional who is comfortable working around C-arm equipment and assisting the physician and procedure team. Candidates with backgrounds as a surgical technologist, procedure-room medical assistant, orthopedic assistant, pain management assistant, or C-arm assistant are encouraged to apply., * Prepare procedure rooms before and between cases
- Assist with C-arm setup, movement, positioning, and safe handling within the limits of the employee's training and qualifications
- Assist the physician and clinical team during interventional pain procedures
- Establish, maintain, and monitor a sterile field
- Open sterile supplies using proper aseptic technique
- Assist with patient positioning and procedure-room preparation
- Stock and organize medications, supplies, linens, and procedure trays
- Clean and disinfect procedure rooms and equipment between patients
- Follow radiation-safety practices, including proper use of lead protection
- Recognize and immediately report breaks in sterile technique
- Anticipate the needs of the physician during procedures
- Complete assigned documentation and assist with efficient patient flow
- Follow all infection-control, HIPAA, OSHA, and practice policies
Requirements
Private Practice is seeking an experienced Procedure Room Assistant to support our interventional pain management team. This is a hands-on clinical position for someone who has prior experience working with C-arm fluoroscopy, X-ray equipment, sterile fields, and outpatient procedures., * Previous hands-on experience working in a procedure room, operating room, pain clinic, orthopedic setting, surgical center, or similar clinical environment
- Previous experience working with or around a C-arm
- Understanding of basic X-ray and radiation-safety practices
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique and maintaining a sterile field
- Ability to identify and respond appropriately to contamination of the sterile field
- Comfortable assisting during procedures involving needles, injections, and blood
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow physician direction
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with positioning or transferring patients
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain it before starting
Preferred Experience
- Interventional pain management
- Ambulatory surgery center
- Orthopedics, spine, podiatry, or surgical assisting
- Medical assistant or surgical technologist training
- Experience preparing sterile procedure trays and assisting physicians during injections
- Familiarity with electronic medical records
Important Position Clarification
This position does not require the candidate to be a registered radiologic technologist. However, applicants must have meaningful prior experience working with C-arm equipment and sterile procedures. Any use of imaging equipment will be limited to duties permitted by the candidate's documented training, qualifications, and applicable regulations.
