Requirements
- 10+ years in software engineering with a track record of progression into architecture and technical leadership
- Distributed systems expertise - large-scale, high-throughput backend systems in production
- Networking fundamentals - the deeper the better; protocol-level knowledge is a strong advantage
- AI fluency - you actively use AI tools (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, or similar) across coding, testing, documentation, and system design. This is daily practice, not occasional use.
- Cross-team architectural impact - you've influenced engineering direction beyond your own team through design reviews, RFCs, or technical standards
- Strong foundation in data modeling, APIs, and service-oriented architecture
Strong Plus
- .NET / C# - our primary platform (language matters less than how you think and orchestrate AI, but C# depth is a real advantage)
- Deep protocol-level knowledge: SNMP, WMI, Modbus, MQTT, or similar
- Experience building or operating large-scale network scanning or asset discovery systems
- Solid CI/CD practices and containerized workload experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
Nice to Have
- Rust, Go, or Java experience
- Exposure to OT, ICS, SCADA, or IoT environments
- On-premise or air-gapped deployment experience
- Platform engineering and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi)
- High-throughput service design

What You'll Work On
- Architectural ownership of a distributed discovery platform that scans and classifies assets at scale across IT, OT, IoT, and cloud environments
- Cross-team technical leadership - design reviews, RFCs, and driving alignment across neighboring engineering teams without direct authority
- Protocol-level problem solving - the platform reaches into environments most tools don't touch, using network scanning, protocol analysis, and device fingerprinting at scale
- AI-native engineering practices - defining where and how AI tools (Claude, code assistants, agent workflows) are applied to discovery, protocol reverse-engineering, code generation, and testing
- Shipping code - this is a hands-on role; you'll lead by building, not just reviewing, We're not looking for people who use AI occasionally. We're looking for people who can't imagine working without it - and who want to help define what AI-native engineering looks like at scale.

Pay Transparency
At Lansweeper, every role is assigned to a level defined by three things: the expertise it requires, the complexity it involves, and the scope of impact it carries.
Each level maps to a salary band based on benchmarks from the Software/SaaS industry in Belgium, so your pay reflects what the market pays for comparable roles.
The gross salary range for this role is €85,642 - €139,168 (EUR, Belgium, full-time).
Where you land within that range depends on the expertise you bring, the complexity you have navigated, the scope of impact you have owned, and your track record - the same criteria applied consistently to every candidate.
