Job description
You will act as a senior technology architect supporting strategic architecture initiatives across cross-border digital services. The role focuses on designing and delivering a modern, composable platform and services ecosystem that is scalable, secure, and built for future growth.
You will own architecture direction for logistics, transport, and e-commerce use cases, translating business needs into technical solutions that can be delivered across teams. You will work closely with product owners, developers, business analysts, suppliers, and remote teams to keep designs aligned and execution on track.
The right person combines strong technical depth with a hands-on, collaborative mindset. You bring ownership, structure, and the confidence to guide teams, improve standards, and drive adoption through influence and clear architectural thinking.
Your Responsibilities
- Define scalable, secure, and modular reference architectures for logistics, transport, and digital services.
- Lead the architecture definition for e-commerce integrations and API-based digital services.
- Create and review technical designs to ensure coherence, scalability, and resilience across domains.
- Guide the adoption of microservices and product-centric architecture models.
- Translate business requirements into technical architectures with product owners, developers, and business analysts.
- Collaborate with suppliers and remote teams to support alignment and delivery.
- Contribute to architecture governance, data security standards, and API/schema best practices.
What We Offer
- A temporary contract with clear scope across strategic architecture initiatives and BAU support.
- A hybrid working setup in Brussels.
- 40 hours per week.
- High exposure to cross-border, business-critical architecture decisions.
- The opportunity to shape a modern platform and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, ideally in logistics, transport, or e-commerce.
- Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architectures and API ecosystems in Java, PHP, or Python.
- Strong understanding of product organization models, domain-driven design, RESTful APIs, webhooks, API gateways, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS ECS/EKS.
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and Bedrock, plus DevSecOps and secure SDLC practices, including AI-enabled software development.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts and guide development teams.
Nice-to-haves
- Exposure to event-driven architecture and tools such as Kafka, Avro, and schema registry.
- Business-level written and spoken proficiency in both national languages.
- Prior experience with public-sector clients.
Apply if you want to shape architecture at the intersection of cross-border operations, digital services, and platform modernization. This is a role with real scope to influence technical direction and raise the standard across teams.
