Job description
As an Embedded Linux Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the embedded software stack running on high-performance computing platforms.
Working closely with robotics, AI, and hardware engineers, you'll help build reliable software that enables real-time perception, autonomous decision-making, and embedded video processing., * Develop embedded software primarily in C and modern C++
- Build and maintain custom Linux distributions using Yocto and Buildroot
- Develop software for NVIDIA Jetson-based embedded computing platforms
- Integrate hardware peripherals, sensors, cameras, and communication interfaces
- Optimise embedded Linux systems for performance, reliability, and low latency
- Work on embedded video capture, streaming, and image processing pipelines
- Support Edge AI deployment and optimisation on embedded hardware
- Debug low-level software and hardware interactions
- Collaborate with robotics, electronics, computer vision, and AI teams throughout product development
- Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience developing software in C++ and C
- Experience developing Embedded Linux applications
- Good knowledge of Yocto and/or Buildroot
- Experience working with Linux device drivers and system-level programming
- Familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson platforms or similar ARM-based embedded systems
- Experience debugging embedded software on Linux
- Understanding of embedded hardware and communication interfaces
- Comfortable working within an agile software development environment
