Job description

The Generali Operations Service Platform (GOSP) supports the Generali Group in optimizing digital services and service quality. GOSP utilizes shared technology platforms for the group. As a joint venture partner, Accenture supports transformation, innovation, and scaling. GOSP develops solutions for digitalization and the implementation of a cloud-centric model, encompassing areas such as IT infrastructure, procurement, security operations, and anti-money laundering., To strengthen our Scheduling (TSP-SCD) team within the German branch of GOSP, we are looking for an IT Systems Manager - Scheduling & Automation (m/f/d). The Scheduling unit delivers automation solutions for business-critical applications across the Generali Group in Germany and internationally. We are looking for a technology-driven professional with a passion for automation, innovation, and continuous improvement. You enjoy working across platforms, exploring emerging technologies, and helping shape the future of enterprise workload automation through modern solutions, AI-assisted development, and operational excellence.

  • Drive the evolution, modernization, and optimization of enterprise scheduling and automation services across mainframe, distributed, and cloud-ready environments
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve automation solutions for business-critical workloads and IT operations
  • Evaluate and leverage modern technologies, AI-assisted development tools, and automation frameworks to increase efficiency and innovation
  • Collaborate with national and international stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, and future-proof solutions
  • Analyze incidents, job failures, and performance bottlenecks, ensuring sustainable resolutions and continuous service improvement
  • Contribute to migration, transformation, and innovation initiatives within the scheduling and automation landscape
  • Support operational excellence through change, incident, problem, audit, and compliance processes
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical, operational, and process documentation

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, completed IT vocational training, or a comparable qualification
  • Experience in enterprise scheduling, workload automation, IT operations, software engineering, or the management of complex IT infrastructures
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise scheduling platforms such as IBM Z Workload Scheduler, SMA OpCon, or comparable solutions
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, automation frameworks, scripting, and modern software development practices
  • Experience with Python, APIs, or comparable automation technologies is highly desirable
  • Interest in emerging technologies and modern ways of working, including AI-assisted development, Microsoft Copilot, Vibe Coding, low-code/no-code platforms, and advanced automation toolchains
  • Knowledge of mainframe technologies such as JCL, REXX, DB2, and ISPF is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Open-minded, adaptable, and willing to look beyond established processes to identify opportunities and drive innovation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in an international environment
  • Fluent German and good English language skills
