Our D&A journey has resulted in something we are proud of: a centralized, state-of-the-art Microsoft Fabric and Power BI architecture, grounded in standardization, governance, security, and best practices across data engineering, modelling, and dashboarding.
This role is about the next chapter. We are in the early stages of onboarding new use cases onto the platform and are looking for someone who can grasp the fundamentals of our set-up and put them to use: engaging stakeholders, building trusted relationships, understanding the needs behind requests, developing and delivering scalable productionized data products, driving adoption, and making end-user reporting more efficient.
Day to day, you will:
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the bank, gathering business requirements by understanding their analytical needs;
- Translate business requirements into centralized, sustainable, and scalable BI solutions;
- Assess, maintain, and improve local Power BI solutions across the bank, including legacy data models and dashboards, by centralizing and aligning them with established Microsoft Fabric and BI standards where needed;
- Migrate SAP Business Objects solutions to Power BI/Fabric;
- Design, develop, and maintain semantic models, dashboards, and self-service analytics solutions aligned with our Microsoft Fabric and Power BI principles and standards, including workspace administration, app publishing, deployment pipelines, access management, and content lifecycle management;
- Act as a trusted advisor within the BI community by mentoring and coaching business users on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI best practices;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our BI landscape, governance, security, and development standards by ensuring Power BI and Fabric solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with NIBC's established development practices, including DTAP, user acceptance testing, and CI/CD deployment processes.

The BI team owns and manages the Power BI and Fabric platform across the organization. As part of this team, you will support and guide data-savvy users across the bank in solving complex challenges and bringing their products to production.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a BI Engineer, Power BI Developer, Business Intelligence Specialist, or similar role, with strong expertise in Power BI, including:
- o Semantic modelling and dimensional modelling
- o SQL, Python, and advanced DAX programming
- o Data visualization and dashboard design
- o Self-service BI enablement
- o Power BI Service administration and management, including workspace management, app publishing, deployment pipelines and rules, access management, and content lifecycle management
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Fabric fundamentals, architecture, components, and artefacts such as Dataflow Gen2 for data ingestion, Pipelines for data orchestration, Python/PySpark Notebooks for data transformations, and OneLake security;
- Experience using Microsoft Fabric to build and extend data and reporting products within an established enterprise architecture;
- Proven ability to translate broad business objectives into tangible, scalable BI deliverables while balancing stakeholder expectations, priorities, and technical feasibility;
- Proven experience managing stakeholders and delivering BI initiatives across multiple business domains;
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and supporting both technical and non-technical business users in adopting Power BI and Fabric;
- Experience working with BI governance frameworks, development standards, security principles, and controlled delivery processes;
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and operating within established incident, problem, and change management processes.
Nice to have
- Experience within banking, financial services, or another regulated industry;
- Knowledge of SAP Business Objects;
- Familiarity with data governance standards;
- Knowledge of the integration of Generative AI and its applications within BI, analytics, and self-service reporting.
