Job description

As a Lead Security Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity Technology & Controls, you are an integral part of team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions., * Executes creative security solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems

  • Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Minimizes security vulnerabilities by following industry insights and governmental regulations to continuously evolve security protocols, including creating processes to determine the effectiveness of current controls
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate threat modeling, vulnerability analysis synthesis, and security documentation, validating outputs and ensuring sensitive data is handled appropriately.
  • Works with stakeholders and business leaders to understand security needs and recommend business modifications during periods of vulnerability
  • Conducts discovery, vulnerability, penetration testing, and threat scenarios on multiple organizational assets to identify and assess if vulnerabilities are present, and executes threat modeling for multiple applications including external applications interacting with the internal JPMorgan Chase network
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within SDLC/toolchain routines to strengthen security testing and control validation, ensuring traceability/auditability and alignment to resiliency and security expectations.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
  • Be able to work the teams located in different Geographical locations

Requirements

  • Obtain 5 plus years of experience Java and Python Programming languages in Cloud Environments (Public/Private)
  • Skilled in planning, designing, and implementing enterprise level security solutions
  • Strong hands-on AI/ML engineering skills ( ML frameworks like PyTorch/TensorFlow, MLOps with CI/CD and model deployment/monitoring),
  • Deep GenAI experience (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, embeddings/vector databases), and Agentic AI expertise (tool/function calling, orchestration frameworks, multi-agent workflows, evaluation/guardrails, and responsible AI/security).
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support security engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted code/security recommendations before adoption, escalating uncertainty and ensuring outcomes align to security, resiliency, and auditability expectations.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Development , Testing and Implementation
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience effectively communicating with senior business leaders
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Equivalent
