Actively seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Precise Systems team at Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) in support of the MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) Engineering Branch. This full-time, in-office contract position provides VLS engineering expertise in execution of the in-service engineering agent tasking across the VLS systems project portfolio. This role is critical in aligning engineering, test, and logistics activities with program objectives to sustain fleet readiness and increase combat system capabilities., Technical Execution & Engineering Support
- Provide senior-level technical expertise for the execution of Vertical Launch System (VLS) tasks, including launcher installation, system upgrades, and testing & evaluation.
- Lead failure investigations and troubleshooting efforts, utilizing computer diagnostics to isolate and resolve complex system issues.
- Author, edit, and update high-level technical documentation, including shipboard procedures, engineering waivers, and comprehensive test plans.
Software, Hardware, & Systems Analysis
- Analyze and review new Launcher Software Systems and tactical computer programs, ensuring operational integrity and compliance.
- Conduct software application testing specifically tailored to the MK 41 Vertical Launching System.
- Develop and maintain VLS Computer Hardware and Software Technical Manuals for the Launch Control Unit (LCU), including all peripheral equipment and system interfaces.
Integrated Product Support (IPS) & Lifecycle Management
- Lead MK 41 VLS LCU integrated product support initiatives, overseeing the alignment of technical and logistics documentation.
- Manage and update critical lifecycle documentation, including Technical Manuals (TM), Planned Maintenance System (PMS) documentation, shipboard operation/maintenance procedures, and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) workbooks.
- Ensure the integrity and configuration control of software and systems engineering documentation, including Interface Control Documents (ICD), Software Requirements Documents (SRDs), Version Description Documents (VDDs), and acceptance demonstration procedures for various launching systems, canisters, and associated equipment.
Requirements

Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of experience supporting MK 41 VLS In-Service Engineering. This must include:

LCU and launcher hardware troubleshooting and failure investigations.

Authoring shipboard technical manuals for new or upgraded launcher equipment and launch control computers.

Conducting launch data analysis of missile live fire events in support of engineering failure investigations.
Technical Tools: Proficiency with MK 41 VLS ISEA data reduction and analysis tools.
Equipment Operations: Hands-on experience operating Missile Simulators (Interface Test Sets, Missile Echo Units) and Automatic Test Equipment (ATEs).
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities with a proven track record of identifying complex technical issues, breaking them down into manageable components, and implementing creative fixes.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, present complex findings, and facilitate technical discussions.
Software: Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Teams). Education and Certification Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science. (An Advanced degree is a plus).
- Certifications: Current or prior MK 41 VLS Personnel Certification Program (PCP) certification at the Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT) or Test Director (TD) level.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $103,428.48 to $155,142.72 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
