Job description

  • Respond off hours to anomalies and problems on our unique and complex system.
  • Monitor and log system conditions alerts and alarms.
  • Maintain good working relationships through direct interaction and collaboration with customers, peers, and associate contractors.
  • Maintain awareness of operation status of subsystem hardware and the supporting monitoring scripts.
  • Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems.
  • Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system issues.
  • Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new system deliveries.
  • Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand.
  • Train new teammates on our system.
  • Investigate root cause of problems.
  • Work full-time from within our customer on-site facility

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Cshell, PERL, or HTML
  • Experience with Linus and MS Office operating systems.
  • Experience with Confluence/Jira system
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with scripting language TCL/TK.
  • Experience with control-systems theory.
  • Experience with electronic systems, Electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with RF and digital communications.
  • Experience of engineering tradeoffs.
  • Experience with technical briefings.
  • Experience utilizing analysis methods and tools to trouble shoot various events.
  • Experience creating, tracking, and executing all or parts of technical projects.

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
