Lead Data Manager - ESS

ESS Business Intelligence is an Enterprise Shared Services team focused on data, reporting and data science supporting Humana's Service Operations. The team is focused on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners who can utilize to reduce administrative cost and improve the customer's experience.

This position will work within the ESS Business Intelligence team. This team is focused on gathering and documenting data requirements for Data Science, Data Consulting, Data Visualization and Reporting.

Responsibilities

The Data Management Lead supports all aspects of configuration control, data management, and deficiency reporting. The Data Management Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Data Management Lead supports implementation of government and industry policies for requirements management, document management, change management, production and delivery, and configuration management of the performance, functional, and physical baselines.

Responsibilities:

Acquires, validates, stores, protects, and processes required data to ensure the accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of the data for its users.

Develops and executes architectures, policies, practices and procedures that properly manage the full data lifecycle needs of an enterprise.

Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience

8 or more years of experience in data analysis using ETL tools and developing ETL packages using SSIS

2 or more years of people and project leadership experience

Experience building and maintaining analytic data sets

Working knowledge of ad-hoc query tools and data repositories that support data extraction and manipulation

Experience using Structured Query Language

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAS and/or SPSS

Experience with large data sets and health-care data

Intermediate to advanced experience in programming, analytical work, research and/or statistics

For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated (preferred) or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work.
