The Senior Cyber Engineer supports a dedicated customer site in Huntsville, AL as part of Everfox's growing professional services engineering team. This high-impact role requires hands-on technical expertise, independence in troubleshooting, and effective communication with both the customer and Everfox leadership. The engineer provides SME-level support across endpoint security solutions (HBSS, Tanium, Digital Guardian, etc.) and ensures the operational stability, security, and performance of Everfox appliances and supporting infrastructure.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Huntsville, AL. No telework or alternate work location is available. For security reasons, the specific customer location is not listed; full details are provided upon employment and indoctrination.

  • Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots Windows and RHEL 8.x operating systems supporting Everfox appliances in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Creates, maintains, and troubleshoots virtual hosts running on ESXi or Hyper-V.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots performance issues impacting Everfox products onsite.
  • Reviews and remediates security vulnerabilities or controls based on STIGs or scanning reports.
  • Installs firmware updates on physical hardware including DellEMC and HPE servers, SANs, switches, firewalls, and other components.
  • Collaborates with product support and development teams to resolve issues or bugs identified in customer-deployed products.
  • Works directly with onsite government, contractor, or subcontractor staff as first-line support for deployed products.
  • Performs regular health checks and monitoring of Kubernetes clusters, using tools such as Grafana to track performance metrics.
  • Reviews logs proactively to identify and resolve issues before escalation.
  • Deploys, monitors, troubleshoots, and optimizes endpoint security solutions, ensuring correct policy and system configuration.
  • Applies broad understanding of enterprise infrastructure (data centers, networking, operations, security) to collaborate effectively across domains.
  • Develops, explains, and maintains software deployment plans.
  • Communicates daily with customers and Everfox management, providing activity summaries and detailed trip reports when applicable.
  • Supports physical hardware tasks such as lifting, racking, and cabling.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active TS with SCI or SCI eligibility within two years from last use.

  • At least one DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program certification (IAT level II or higher).

  • Ability to meet work authorization requirements under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations.

  • Windows and RHEL 8.x installation, maintenance, troubleshooting.

  • Product support and development team collaboration for issue resolution.

  • ESXi or Hyper-V virtual host management.

  • Appliance performance monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • Security vulnerability remediation aligned with STIGs or scan reports.

  • Firmware installation across major server and network hardware.

  • First-line support with government and contractor personnel.

  • Daily communication and reporting to customers and internal management.

  • Physical hardware handling (lifting, racking, cabling).

  • Deep understanding of:

  • Windows OS services and service accounts.
  • Routing, switching, firewall rules, and TCP/UDP/SSH/FTP/SCP/HTTPS protocols.
  • Certificate creation, renewal, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Server hardware installation, patching, and maintenance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience of relevant professional experience
