Job description

The Algorithm Principal Systems Engineer will work on site alongside other systems engineers, provide technical direction to a small team of algorithm analysts, and support both the chief engineer and the lead systems engineer. This is an Onsite role located in Plano, Texas

Requirements

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * Bachelor's degree in a related STEM discipline such as Engineering, Physics, or Math and eight (8) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in algorithm development

  • Experience in any of the following areas: Signal Processing Algorithms or Models, Image Processing Algorithms or Models, Detection Theory or Machine Learning
  • UNIX/Linux and demonstrated computer programming skills in C or C++ and using MATLAB or Python for data analysis
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience developing signal processing algorithms for airborne surveillance applications, signal & image processing, digital communications, detection and estimation theory, or AI/ML and training techniques
  • Mathematical modeling and problem-solving abilities
  • Algorithm development and/or signal processing
  • Real-time Programming, software change management tools, and processes
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams and providing subject-matter guidance and documented technical mentorship to junior engineers in an algorithm engineering environment

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
