Job description
- End-User & Help Desk Support: Provide high-quality technical assistance and troubleshooting for workstations, peripherals (printers, scanners, modems), software applications, and mobile devices.
- System Installation & Maintenance: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain desktop computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/macOS), and local network systems.
- Network & Connectivity Support: Diagnose and resolve basic local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and basic TCP/IP network connectivity issues.
- Access & Security Management: Administer active end-user accounts, configure appropriate permissions, manage workstation folder/file security, and enforce system security protocols.
- Documentation & Training: Create, update, and maintain comprehensive technical support documentation and training materials for staff to minimize recurring issues.
- Asset Tracking & Vendor Liaison: Maintain an accurate hardware/software inventory and coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware repairs, telematics, or software license renewals.
Requirements
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team in Stockton, CA.
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for resolving day-to-day hardware, software, and network technical issues. The ideal candidate possesses excellent problem-solving skills, can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical end-users, and is comfortable managing local infrastructure while supporting remote or satellite facilities across the Central Valley., * Education: Associate's degree (or completion of 60 semester units) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Equivalent hands-on experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in an active IT support, system administration, or help desk environment.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems, alongside enterprise productivity suites (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and basic TCP/IP protocols).
- Experience working with active directory management, cloud database applications, and remote diagnostic tools.
- Highly valued certifications (preferred but not required): CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Fundamentals.
Physical & Special Requirements
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid California Class C driver's license and clean driving record in order to perform routine on-site support at remote user sites or satellite locations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to sit, stand, and move for extended periods; physical strength to safely lift and carry IT equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Compliance: Willingness to undergo a standard background check and California Department of Justice fingerprint clearance if required by industry guidelines.
