Job description

The Vice President (VP) of Enterprise Applications is an executive technology leader responsible for the strategic direction, governance, lifecycle management, and operational excellence of the organization's enterprise application landscape. This role provides vision and leadership over mission-critical platforms, including NExT, Superyacht, its ERP, CRM, HRIS, financial systems, operations systems, and internal business applications. The VP collaborates with the CTO, IT PMO, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity leadership, business product owners, and strategic third-party vendors to ensure that applications consistently support business objectives, drive operational efficiency, and deliver superior user experiences.This executive owns the end-of-the-end lifecycle of enterprise applications, including modernization, vendor performance, enhancement governance, and operational readiness. The VP of Enterprise Applications reports to the Chief Technology Officer., Executive Leadership & Strategy Develop and execute the enterprise-wide strategy for application support, lifecycle management, modernization, and operational excellence. Lead and mature global L1, L2, and L3 support teams, system administrators, and application operations organizations. Integration & Resilience Strategy Establish a culture of security first mindset, accountability, performance, agility, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide executive guidance on application portfolio planning, architectural alignment, cloud strategy, and technology investments. Serve as a key advisor to the CTO on enterprise application architecture, capability expansion, and operational risk. Financial & Budget Ownership: Own the enterprise application support budget, including staffing, licensing, SaaS subscriptions, vendor contracts, and capital expenditures. Develop long-range financial plans aligned with corporate strategy and technology roadmaps. Optimize cost efficiency via platform rationalization, cloud utilization management, vendor negotiations, and contract governance. Provide transparent reporting to Technology and Finance leadership regarding financial performance, forecasts, and strategic investment needs. Operations, Reliability & Service Delivery: Ensure world-class availability, performance, and reliability across all enterprise applications and integrations. Govern ITIL-aligned processes for incident, problem, change, request, and release management. Establish executive-level SLAs, KPIs, and operational dashboards to measure performance and business impact. Oversee major incident command, executive communication, RCA leadership, and long-term corrective action plans. Maintain stringent compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, regulatory, and audit obligations. Strategic Partnership with IT PMO & Governance: Partner closely with the IT PMO leadership to ensure seamless transitions from project delivery to operational support. Co-create and enforce a unified enterprise application lifecycle management framework, including intake, prioritization, enhancement governance, and end-of-life planning. Assume full leadership over steady-state support, vendor management, operational readiness, and enhancement execution once solutions exit PMO delivery. Align roadmaps, capacity planning, and resource allocation with PMO and Enterprise Architecture to ensure cohesive delivery across the technology portfolio. Business Product Owner Engagement: Establish and maintain disciplined, ongoing engagement with business product owners for every enterprise application. Lead structured governance routines including quarterly business reviews, roadmap alignment sessions, and operational health reporting. Ensure business needs, compliance requirements, feature priorities, and application capabilities remain continuously aligned. Act as executive escalation partner for product owners during operational disruptions or strategic conflicts. Middleware and Data Strategy: Ownership of the API economy within the Safe Harbor Marines, how custom apps (NExT) talk to standard apps (ERP/CRM). Governance over data integrity as it moves between systems. Ongoing Application Support: Access Control & Security Oversee access control governance, ensuring proper provisioning, role-based access models, and periodic reviews. Align IAM practices with cybersecurity, audit, and regulatory standards. Ensure access administration processes are efficient, standardized, and compliant. Vendor SLA Performance & Relationship Management: Govern strategic vendor relationships and enforce performance against contractual SLAs. Lead executive-level vendor reviews, performance scorecards, and corrective action leadership. Drive vendor accountability for uptime, support responsiveness, enhancement delivery, and cost effectiveness. Continuously assess vendor landscape to support strategic sourcing and platform optimization. Disaster Recovery (DR) & Business Continuity Planning (BCP): Explicit responsibility for defining and testing RTO (Recovery Time Objectives) and RPO (Recovery Point Objectives). Resilience Engineering: Moving from "incident response" to proactive "chaos engineering" or resilience testing, ensuring the business can survive a failure of the custom platforms. Application Lifecycle Management: Own the end-to-end application lifecycle, including roadmap governance, patch management, upgrades, modernization, and sunsetting. Ensure enhancements are delivered with proper testing, documentation, change controls, and operational readiness planning. Maintain a comprehensive, current application portfolio inventory and documentation footprint. Technical Debt Management Collaborate with Product Owners to balance new features against the need to refactor code and pay down technical debt to ensure long-term stability. Cross-Functional Business Partnership: Partner with Operations, Finance, HR, Sales, and other business functions to align application support to business processes and performance expectations. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure stable, scalable, and sustainable system designs. Serve as the executive sponsor for initiatives improving application usability, performance, and business value. Requirements

15+ years of IT experience, with at least 10 years leading enterprise application support, operations, or technology organizations. Proven executive-level leadership experience within mid-large-scale organizations. Demonstrated success owning multimillion-dollar budgets and strategic vendor portfolios. Strong experience collaborating with PMO organizations and business product owners. Deep understanding of enterprise architectures, SaaS ecosystems, integrations, and cloud platforms. Experience with major enterprise suites such as Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics, and large SaaS applications Exceptional executive communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities. Experience leading application operations within global or 24/7 mission-critical environments, preferred Background in enterprise architecture, digital transformation, or large-scale modernization initiatives, preferred Certifications such as ITIL Expert, PMP/PMI, CSM, or cloud platform certifications, preferred Experience in AIOps, automation, and observability platforms, preferred
