Job description
This position qualifies for the Flex Work or Remote work arrangement. This means you may work remotely for up to 50% of the work week with the remainder of the work week being worked on-site. Final flex work arrangements must be approved by the hiring manager and are subject to change based on business needs.
Under direct supervision and given specific direction, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing Hardware Configuration Management activities per the Configuration Data Management Plan and BAE Systems policies and procedures. The HCM will become adept at managing the change process and ensuring that all changes go through appropriate change boards. This position also entails:
- Using software applications to document the configuration status accounting (CSA) data and maintain the data in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
- Providing support for the establishment of a Configuration Control Board in accordance with project milestones
- Maintaining a status accounting process, including preparation and maintenance of a Configuration Item Verification Record (CIVR) that reflects current status of the end items for hardware
- Providing for necessary interface and communication with customers, subcontractors and hardware areas within program groups and the various company functional elements supporting the program group
- May have responsibility for providing hardware metrics
In this role, the HCM will become proficient in the use of PLM and knowledge of BAE Systems procedures. They will stay current with industry standards and technology.
Essential Functions are:
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in typical job responsibilities listed above.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
- Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers;
- Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents;
- Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations;
- Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule
Requirements
- Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills
- US citizen eligible for a DoD security clearance
- Two or more years related experience.
- Active Secret clearance
- Familiarity with SAE ANSI/EIA-649B Configuration Management Standards
- Experience working with government contracts
- Experience with basic computer applications, databases, operating systems, and hardware

Full-Time Salary Range: $64926 - $110374
