Data Science Engineer | Full-time, All Genders, Hybrid

As a data science engineer, you'll help GrECo build AI into its insurance platform - from Claims AI, which reads incoming claim emails and documents and automatically classifies and extracts the key information, to retrieval-augmented assistants that answer questions over our document base. You'll own and extend these systems end-to-end, from prompt to production on Azure.

• Data Analysis and Insight Generation: Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities that support business decision-making.
• Document intelligence: Turn unstructured documents (PDF, Word, Excel, scans, email) into structured data using OCR / computer vision, NLP, and LLM extraction.
• Machine Learning and Deep Learning: Develop, train, evaluate and optimize machine learning and deep learning models to solve complex business problems and support intelligent decision-making.
• Prompt engineering: Design, test and iterate prompts; build evaluation and monitoring (accuracy, confidence calibration, tracing) to keep output reliable in production.
• Model Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor model performance, validate assumptions and continuously improve analytical approaches and methodologies

• You bring strong knowledge of data science, with hands-on experience in machine learning and deep learning models and a solid foundation in mathematics
• You understand statistical analysis and model evaluation techniques
• You can communicate analytical results clearly and translate technical findings into business recommendations
• Strong practical knowledge of Python and common data science libraries
• Comfortable evaluating and monitoring AI output (accuracy, tracing tools such as LangSmith) and iterating to improve it.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written

• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of natural language processing, generative AI or document processing solutions
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• German language
