Job description
We are seeking a Network LAN/WLAN Engineer (L1) to join our IT Infrastructure team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting enterprise LAN and WLAN environments, troubleshooting network connectivity issues, and assisting with the deployment and maintenance of Cisco-based network infrastructure.
This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid networking foundation who is looking to grow within a large enterprise environment while working alongside senior network engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 operational support for enterprise LAN and WLAN infrastructure.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network connectivity issues affecting users, devices, and applications.
- Install, configure, and replace network hardware, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and related infrastructure.
- Perform basic configuration changes on Cisco network devices under established change management procedures.
- Support enterprise wireless environments, including SSID connectivity, authentication, and access point troubleshooting.
- Assist with network deployments, upgrades, hardware refreshes, and site implementations.
- Perform network health checks and validate network performance after maintenance activities.
- Escalate complex incidents to Level 2/Level 3 Network Engineers when appropriate.
- Document incidents, root cause findings, and network changes in the ticketing system.
- Work closely with desktop support, server, security, and infrastructure teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience supporting enterprise LAN/WLAN environments.
- Strong understanding of:

Network troubleshooting methodologies. Hands-on experience with:

Network patching and structured cabling
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST Networking)
- CompTIA Network+
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center), Cisco Meraki, Aruba, or Juniper networking solutions.
- Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Cisco Catalyst Center.
