Job description
As part of our Clickout-to-Revenue team, you will work on one of idealo's most business-critical platforms. Every day, millions of user interactions must be processed reliably, accurately, and at scale to ensure transparent billing and trusted partnerships with our merchants., As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and evolve highly available backend services and data pipelines that power click redirection, fraud detection, and revenue processing while shaping the architecture and technical direction of one of idealo's core revenue platforms., * Design, build, and operate highly available backend services and data pipelines on AWS that power idealo's clickout and revenue processing.
- Take end-to-end ownership of your services following our "You build it, you own it" mindset-from architecture and infrastructure to deployment, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.
- Develop scalable services for click redirection and reliable mechanisms to detect and filter invalid traffic, ensuring transparency and traceability.
- Build robust data pipelines that process merchant revenue data and make it available for downstream systems and our data platform.
- Drive technical improvements across architecture, engineering practices, and system reliability while proactively identifying and mitigating technical risks.
- Collaborate closely with your teammates through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing, while contributing to a culture of engineering excellence.
Requirements
Must-have
- Strong professional experience developing backend applications with Java or Kotlin using Spring Boot.
- Experience building data pipelines in Python using AWS serverless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and modern cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform or CloudFormation) and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Strong experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Aurora, MongoDB).
- Experience with event-driven architectures and Kafka or similar messaging technologies.
- A strong sense of ownership and the ability to make well-balanced technical decisions independently.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
- Professional English proficiency.
