Job description
- Supporting business users by analysing data requirements and delivering accurate, reliable reporting solutions.
- Extracting, cleaning and transforming data from SQL databases, ERP systems and flat files.
- Developing and maintaining repeatable data preparation and ETL processes.
- Producing insightful reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI and Power Query.
- Identifying trends, patterns and performance insights to support operational decision-making.
- Supporting KPI reporting and performance reporting for Network Rail.
- Assisting with the mobilisation and implementation of our new operational management system, Total Mobile.
- Working closely with operational, commercial and contract support teams to improve data quality and reporting capabilities., A team of highly motivated, dedicated professionals delivering critical rail infrastructure services across the UK. You'll collaborate closely with our Head of Strategic Projects, Operations, Commercial and Contract Support teams, as well as key stakeholders including Network Rail, helping to ensure data is used effectively to drive performance and improve decision-making.
Requirements
- You have a strong eye for detail and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
- You're naturally analytical and enjoy solving problems using data.
- You can communicate complex information clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders.
- You enjoy working collaboratively and building strong working relationships.
- You're proactive, adaptable and keen to learn new skills, tools and technologies.
- You have a genuine interest in using data to drive business improvement., * Experience using Excel, including formulas, data manipulation and Power Query.
- An understanding of relational databases and data structures.
- Experience cleaning, validating and preparing data from multiple sources.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and insights.
- Experience supporting users with reporting from ERP systems or relational databases.
- GCSE ICT or Computer Science (or equivalent).
Desirable experience:
- SQL knowledge and experience.
- Power BI dashboard and report development.
- Python, VBA or similar programming experience.
- Experience with mobile forms or low-code platforms.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, automation, SOAP/XML or REST/JSON integrations.
- Experience within a helpdesk, support desk or customer service environment.
- A-Level or Degree qualification in Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics or a related subject.
