Job description

  • Conduct site surveys to determine the suitability of renewable energy installations, including Solar PV, battery storage systems, and Air Source Heat Pumps.
  • Complete accurate heat loss calculations on existing dwellings using our industry-leading software.
  • Assess property suitability, structural considerations, electrical infrastructure, and existing heating systems.
  • Design bespoke renewable energy systems based on site conditions, client requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams to produce detailed plans and technical drawings for system installations.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards, building regulations, environmental requirements, and MCS standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of site assessments, design specifications, and project documentation.

Requirements

We are seeking a dedicated Renewable Systems Surveyor/Designer to join our team. This role involves assessing and designing renewable energy and heating systems at customers' properties, with a primary focus on Solar PV and Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installations.

The ideal candidate will possess a technical background (preferably in plumbing and heating), practical skills, and a passion for sustainable energy solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative projects within the renewable sector while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. Full training will be provided where required., * Experience within the renewable energy sector (preferred).

  • A technical background, preferably in plumbing and heating.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and site plans.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail in survey data collection and design documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Experience using design software such as OpenSolar, EasyPV, Heat Engineer, Spruce, or similar (preferred).
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
