Job description

As a Data Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management of student information and school data. Working closely with senior leadership teams, you will provide accurate reporting and insightful analysis to support student achievement, school improvement, and informed decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining the school's Management Information System (MIS), ensuring pupil data remains accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinating statutory returns and ensuring compliance with Department for Education requirements.
  • Producing detailed reports and analysis covering student attainment, progress, attendance, behaviour and wider school performance.
  • Supporting senior leaders with high-quality data to inform strategic planning and school improvement initiatives.
  • Developing and improving data systems and processes to maximise efficiency and accuracy.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure effective use of school data systems.
  • Delivering guidance and training to colleagues on data processes and reporting.
  • Supporting the administration, analysis and reporting of examination and assessment results.
  • Ensuring all student information is managed securely and in line with GDPR and school policies.

Requirements

This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in school data management who enjoys working with management information systems, producing meaningful analysis, and ensuring data accuracy across a busy secondary school environment., * Previous experience as a Data Manager or within a school data and information role.

  • Strong working knowledge of school Management Information Systems such as Arbor, SIMS or Bromcom.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present complex data clearly.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using reporting tools.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, teachers and support staff.
  • A proactive approach, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
