Job description

As a System Security Consultant, you will play a key role in ensuring that systems and information are secure, compliant, and fit for purpose. This is an operational role focused on maintaining and improving the ongoing security posture of internal infrastructure.

You'll work closely with IT and engineering teams while supporting the implementation of security policies and ensuring continuous assurance., * Manage cyber risk across internal systems

  • Ensure the security of internal infrastructure and services
  • Develop and maintain security policies and documentation
  • Ensure system design and implementation meet security requirements
  • Produce evidence to meet MOD regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with engineering teams (Software, DevSecOps, Infrastructure, Support)
  • Report on compliance and cyber risks to senior stakeholders
  • Provide security consultancy to project teams and support operational improvements

Requirements

You'll be someone who takes ownership, thinks critically, and thrives in a collaborative environment tackling complex challenges.

  • Experience conducting risk assessments using methodologies such as NIST or ISO 27005
  • Ability to define and implement risk mitigation strategies (technical, physical, procedural)
  • Experience producing security documentation (e.g. risk assessments, security design, policies, test plans)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage change securely and effectively
  • Experience with technologies such as Azure, M365, Intune, JAMF, Windows, macOS, Kubernetes
  • Understanding of Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD in secure environments
  • Awareness of working within secure or safety-critical environments
